Beach Hut
-
I did these beach huts for Form Fonts and wanted to see what kind of rendering I could do. I was going for an early morning fog on the beach. I am pleased with the result.
For a somewhat detailed description of the process I followed see the Podium forum here:

Those are very cute beach huts, very similar to a few I saw near Falmouth, Cape Cod.

Already commented on the Podium forum but I will say again....very nice render Boo.
-
Well done, Boo...!!

I really like the render and you also seem to have been able to capture a good atmosphere... (windy, a little cloudy etc...)
-
Eric, these are really great. Love the rendering with the sand and all.

sweet boo, i just purchased podium last week as i have made it my mission to add another string to my bow this year.... this is a nice outcome; sure to help me get started!!!

Life's a beach!
Great render Boo! When I read the thread about it at the Podium forums I was interested that you applied a linework overlay. On first look it isn't all that apparent but with a closer look I start to see the effect. I find it interesting how that linework is so fine that it just adds a crispness while keeping a photoreal look. Your photoshop work with the background and beach grass is most impressive. The image looks great!

really cool!

Thanks everyone for all the kind words.

I like the way you make them 'sit' Eric. I would like to see a tut on how you achieved this sometime.

Thanks Mike. What do you mean by "sit"? If you mean how they are placed in the sand well I just created a tin with the sandbox tools and then placed the huts in the sand so to speak.
-
Very nice, Eric.
-
Eric, you seem to just get better and better. My only and I do mean only crit is on the far right hut. It has the weathered look which looks good. I would make the trim have the same weathered look. Other than that they look really good.

-
Those are very cute little huts, nice job. You have done a great job with the rendering also, you have definitely portrayed a "mood".
-
Well, what do you know. My little beach huts are featured on the CADTutor this week.

Reviving a very old thread with new images. This time in Lumion. Each image took less than 5 seconds to render out with my current work specs:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB
Intel i9-9900K 3.6GHz

Great render work Eric. Good lighting, textures and camera shots.
I like Lumion a lot. I am currently using Twinmotion for exteriors and Landscape work. Well done -

Thanks guys.
