      Hi everybody,

Can anybody help me. I'm trying to render a scene with a fireplace. What is the best way to achieve a realistic fire look? clipmaps? Please help.

Clipmaps for instance - but if you have a transparent png image, you can use its alpha channel as a clipmap in Kerky.

You could set it to emmit light thus it would work nicely as a fireplace since it would glow.

Have a look at this image (though "cheating" because the fire itself cannot be seen) by our fellow member, kephalos here.

            You could try this.

The diffuse image was taken from this site :
            http://www.kavewall.com/fire-smoke/index.htm

I just cropped the image and made a clip map out of it.

            Hope this helps.

            Material file.
