Animation to DVD
-
Dear All,
I am a bit of a newbie to SketchUp and am hoping that someone may be able to help.
Is there a way to create a high quality movie of a model animation. I have managed to burn an AVI file to CD but this was rather poor quality. Is it because my computer is not up to the task or do I need another piece of Software? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Sadz

yes, exporting still images and putting them together to a movie later on is the right way to go.
I even export images two or three times the final size and rescale them down in a batch process with photoshop (you only have to define the final resolution and ps does it automatically). thus you get very thin, crisp lines.for the movie codec - if you have premiere elements, I would suggest one of the following:
-
QuickTime H264 with 50% compression will give you a reasonable quality with very small file size
-
Microsoft Intel Indeo Video 4.5 with 85% compression is slightly bigger and a bit better in quality, but takes about 6 times longer to create.
-
I got really good quality with QuickTime Sorenson3 video - it is about 4 times bigger than the first QuickTime codec. but the quality is way better. don't know if this format is supported by dvd players though
