Want to download tutorial videos
-
Hello SketchUppers. My brother was an expert at Sketchup at a time when I was strictly using 3d Studio Max. I've got a new employer now who wants me to use Sketchup and my brother sadly passed away in a motorcycle wreck in 2006. So, I'm pretty much learning from scratch, with exception of this great forum.
I tried the beginner tutorials a few years ago. Now, I cannot access Youtube at my office for the new/improved tutorials because of a "no streaming video" policy there. Do you know of a way I can download these to my hard-drive? I could download them at home, then do the training at the office. Is there another website where I can download tutorial videos?
Eager to become a Sketchup artist. I've always admired the results I've seen by the pro's.
Many thanks!

Baumeister,
Take a look at the resources page at the SU Help Group website, and you'll find several sources of tutorial videos, some of which are downloadable.
Also, it's hard to say what you might find if you were to Google the term "download youtube", although it might be interesting to try.

I found this (http://www.go-2-school.com/podcasts) series to be VERY helpful. And more like real live one on one training.
The book Sketchup for Dummies (http://www.aidanchopra.com/) is a great starter, its where most of the "official" sketchup video tuts come from.
Good luck! -
You could download the videos from youtube using this: http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie/ although im not sure if its strictly legal.
The other thing to do is to just play around in SU and ask lots of questions. You learn a lot by doing that.

Hi,
Install Quicktime.
Then visit: http://www.go-2-school.com/podcasts
Some great tutorials here.
After watching each movie simply right click on the movie window and select "Save as quicktime movie".
You can then build up a whole collection that you can burn to disc and watch at your leisure.Regards
