I am trying to put together a tutorial using scenes. The problem is when adding to a later scene the drawing appears in earlier scenes. I have named scenes and layers in unison. I have loaded every scene to bring up the relevant layer and switch of the previous layer. This problem of the new drawings appearing on all layers still persists. Any advice on dealing with this would be good

I haven't tried the ruby myself but I am definitely going to\

I am not sure from your message though, that this is the whole problem. I have gone through this learning process recently, myself. Advice I have gathered here is:

Always leave Layer 0 active. Your drawing geometry will always be on that layer. Group the things you want to hide/unhide and make a new layer, then designate that group's layer in the entity info window. When you add a new layer, it will be visible in all your existing scenes. The ruby is to help prevent that. I assume all your scenes are also set to remember layer setup.
