When I paint one wall all of the floorplan walls become the same color (sometimes including the floor) and when I paint one floor they all become the same color. I click edit group or edit component but I still can't paint one room a color and wallpaper another. What am I doing wrong? I tried exploding the floorplan, but that didn't work either.

Sounds like you painted the whole group. Can you post your model so we can delve into your problem?

If it's a component then editing one component changes all of them. If it is a group then you have another issue all together because a copy of a group is not linked and they can be altered seperatly.

If it is a component and you want to make it a different colour then right click and select "Make Unique", you will now have another component in your list called "Floor#1", you can then change the name to "Kitchen Floor".
