You have to apply materials in your 3D Modelling program, in this case SketchUp. Then, if you want to apply a new material in hypershot it will change only one material, the one you choose.

        Hi Yo

From having used it for a brief period you need to explode your model down into individual groups and components. Then it will only apply a material to that individual element. Or try putting elements to have a similar material on the same layer. there are ruby plug-ins that that will do this automatically.

How have you found the output from the HD version?, i'm trying convince work to buy it. So far using the demo version i can get 1600x900 which is just about sufficient. i believe the HD version goes to 1920x1080.

This software is potential absurdly good, in terms of results and ease of use. but its also a little frustrating as you cant import camera scenes yet. Which seems archaic. But there is a rhino plug in that works from within Rhino, that would be excellent for SU, we should be asking bunkspeed to release something similar for SU.

        Many thanks

        Matt

Do these renderers bend light seen through glass (curved translucent objects)? I suppose, since SU is not solid, you cannot imitate the thickness of glass or other liquids.

One of the latest protrude samples with a nice rust texture finish rendered in Hypershot trial. I hope you like it.

Pretty good, I don't often use 1920x1080, I prefer something along the lines of 1280x800, Which is Nice for most of my work, But on the rare occasions I've used 1920x1080, I've found it to still be as quick and easy to get good results quickly.

Have you tried the Hypershot Forums yet? http://hypershot.hyperboards.com
Sometimes they can be quite helpful there.

And if you need any more Help Matt, just ask me.

                Oh, and Nice Borg Cube!

After getting my feet wet i tried a more complicated Model, an engine i got off the warehouse.
Most gearheads will maybe laugh out loud on my material choice which is entirely driven by aesthetics; i don't have the slightest idea which metals and stuff would be used to prevent an engine from blowing apart at topspeed 😉

Anyway here's my second hypershot rendering:

That looks lovely, It would be great to see it in a Caterham with the Bonnet up.

Here's a little fun i had with a quickly drawn architectural piece (loosely resembles the Sponza Atrium) and some different light settings. Self illumination included!

It has some light leaks that i was to lazy to fix but it rendered real fast as log as i did not use bump maps which really can slow things down!

                              Hi Earthmover.-

I'd saw the post baout hypershot you wrote and it seems very interesting. I just arrive to this program and I'm testing it really excited. I only had get the 32 bits program, even having asked to the Company for the trial in 32 bits, but they weren't ansewer me yet. I use a Dell Precision M6400 with quadcore and 16 Gb Ram, but can't use all the power. Did you have the 64 bits version? could you support me?
