Vray not rendering SOME softened surfaces
-
This is the first time I have had this issue come up. You can see from the image that some of the surfaces appear fine (chair surface) but the edge of the table comes out faceted even though it is softened in SU. Any help would be appreciated. I have checked the softening angle and all is correct and well as I made the top twice to make sure it was not a modeling issue.

I have been having the same problem so I called their tech support and they told me they are aware of the problem. It can be fixed if you explode the component and create a new component...at least that's what they told me and it worked for me. The problem started for me when I installed the latest update.

I have had the same problem with vray.
I have tried your suggested method and exploded the basin on the left and remade it as a new component.
This seems to have cured the problem - Thankyou.
Hope I do not have to do this with every component/ group each time.
I am trialling i render as well and had no problems apart from the fact the render took a little longer.
Thanks for the advice.

Sure! I'm glad I was able to help.
When I was talking to one of the tech's at V-Ray they said they were aware of the problem and are working on it. I think if more people let V-Ray know the faster the will fix it.
I use V-Ray all the time and feel it is the best rendering program available that works "inside" Sketchup. I know Maxwell is a great rendering program as well but it's nice not to have to export your model into another program. That's what makes V-Ray so nice for us. Until that last update by V-Ray it has worked great.
