            Well you know how they have an actor in a suit with loads of little white balls on it, so they can capture their movement and apply it to a mesh, i was wonderin if theres something similar going on here, except on a more advanced level.

                  you are absolutely right, remus. as I understood it, they use the same idea behind motion capture, only that they use single pixels as trackers - which means dramatically increased precision for tiny movements of the skin and at the same time less preparation and a more comfortable procedure for the actor.

                  so basically it is like covering the actor's whole face in markers.
