But does anyone know how to steer by changing the speed on the wheels? So the left slows down and the right is still going fast, so the car or vehicle turns left...Any replies appreciated, thanks.

This is a long shot, and I don't know if it'll work, but you could put two motors on each wheel, one for joyLX (or joyRX) and one for joyLY (or joyRY). I don't have sketchyphysics on the computer I'm using right now, so I can't test it myself...
