How do I change the thumbnail of a component in the browser? SOmehow after editing a component, the thumbnail shows a viewpoint I'd rather not use. It's been a long time since I've needed to deal with this and I can't remember how to change it.

        Hi Dave,

Try to export them (into a separate file), orbit how you should see them and save. Then reload the component.

also check Window | Model Info | File | Redefine thumbnail on save
(if checked the thumbnail is updated on save based on current view)

I must be doing it incorrectly. Reloading the component replaces the one in the model with the original and leaves the thumbnail as before.

Not necessarily doing it incorrectly - I haven't tried just guessed 😳

              Will try though now πŸ˜„

The box was checked but you gave me an idea.

I saved the component by itself. Then I imported it into a new blank drawing. That corrected the thumbnail and I was able to overwrite the component in the library with it.

                Thanks for the help guys.

                Dave

I guess it probably doesn't happen that often but I wonder if a Ruby could be written to add an Update Thumbnail entry to the flyout menu in the components browser. Or the context menu there.

Oh well. Like I said, it doesn't come up that often for me at least.

                    Thanks again for the help.
