Hello, this it's my first scene 100% sketchup, where I try to recreate a image that I like. But the main goal was to see how I can handle to model an entire scene, without importing 3d models.
      C&C are welcome,
      Regards,
      Stefan

          WOW - very nice!

One of my goals is to become proficient with rendering - I already have a "decent" grasp on modeling geometry. Your image is inspiring, thanks for sharing.

Looks great! What rendering software did you use?

Thanks for comment guys, you are very kind. I was struggled to make my renders looking good, so I was let the modeling part away...but thanks to this community, I'm getting back to the basics.
              @ Daniel- I use v-ray.
I render right now a close-up look of the scene, and I just noticed that I forgot to bevel the edges of the stairs 😢

I small quibble with that second image - you managed to get eye height at exactly the step height and it makes the step look almost like a rendering mistake. A little higher would give a view of the step that makes it clear what it is. But generally, wow.

Very nice indeed. Did you use some sort of sharpening filter in post process? If so: less is more. 😉

Thanks for the observations guys, I know I've got issues, and thanks to you I'll try take care from now.
Tim, you have so right about that step, it looks strange in deed, thanks for pointing me that mistake.
Stinkie, I don't use PP, but you have good eyes, like Kwisten. In deed , I used Catmull Rom and I'm really happy when I get 'techy' posts, in fact it's all that a newbie like me can desire.By the way Kwisten, what antialiasing filter should I use for interiors
                            Thanks to all, Cheers,
                            Stefan

                              stefan,

wow the composition is good indeed. i dont have any comment on the modelling part though. the only thing is to increase the subdivision of your blurry reflection. your blurry reflections are very noisy especially on the angle that you have chosen.

Thanks Nomer, another issue from me, I know that too. I have allot of reflections, basically in all materials, and with 'standard' subdivisions, I still got a very long render time @ 7 hours, with an 2.8 processor, and 2 GB Ram. I'll try to render again, this time better I hope!
                                Regards,
                                Stefan

                                  Nice image Stefan.

As Stinkie mentioned, there is indeed a slightly antialiasing issue.
I think you either turned off AA or used a slightly too sharp Catmull Rom.
(Catmull Rom is often a good choice when doing exteriors though).
I think the steps could use a lower IOR and a little bump.

                                  Otherwise, wonderful output.

Sorry for my 'techy' post 😉
