Hey there. I'm sort of a new user to sketchup. I don't have the pro version. I've had it for a couple of months now but only really starting to use it recently.

      Anyway, here's the problem.

I opened SU the other day and updated it to SU6. Now my SU keeps crashing! I run it on a MacOSX Leopard and I've never had any problems before. But SU randomly crashes all the time now. I have to force restart my laptop (ie holding down power button etc) when it happens because all I can do when this happens is move the cursor around but that's it.

I highly doubt it's because my laptop is too slow since it's one of those macbook pros.

I've tried reinstalling but that doesn't work...could someone please help me?

      Thanks.

        Hi Pencilman,

I'm not a Mac user but in the SU > Bug reports subforum we have a quite long discussion about the "Leopard hang fix".

I hope you get some answers and solutions there

My problem is not always crashing but locking up when ever editing a group or highlighting it, I don't know what the problem is but it makes it very hard to use Sketchup, I use Windows XP Media center, And a EVGA 8600GT SSE, But without OpenGL.
Could OpenGL be why its locking up and sometimes crashing ❓

Without openGl? so in the preferences you have 'use hardware acceleration' unchecked?

I suggest checking it as you have a decent enough card to handle SU and it will speed things up dramatically.

We're looking closely at this issue. Is ANYONE who's experiencing this NOT on an Intel GMA 950 graphics card? That would include current Mac Mini, older MacBook and one old model of (white) iMac. Thanks!
