Hi there guys! i have a question...is there a way or a ruby script to delete completely from a model part of an object that has been sectioned by the section plane ??i mean that allows you to delete completely what is missing once that object is touched by the plan. This question is because when i export the skp file to another program the part that is not shown in sketchup file apears in the other 3d program.See the pics below to see if you get what i try to explain

Thank you so much in advice

1st image: The model before activate the section planes
2nd image: The model after activate the section planes ( it's supposed to be ready to render or exported)
3rd image: What i get once imported or rendered the model

        Hi Kgon,

I'm not really sure what you are doing here but I think you
may need to use 'Intersect With Model', then delete the portion
        you don't need.

The technique is from a tutorial here by Gaieus on how to make a tiled roof using section planes.

I fairly sure there are no methods to access the section plane object from Ruby.

          Hi

Yes, this is the very reason I'd really like Tomasz to integrate section cuts into SU2KT for instance.

            Kgon,

This section cut method is only good because it saves time as well as file size (you can stay with a single component). If you use the intersection method, you will need to explode all components on the corners (or at least make them unique) which is long, tedious and you end up with an unbearable file size.

To tell the truth, in Kerky for instance, displacement maps are more likely to be introduced first - and they will be as good as modeling these roofs individually. But sure both section cuts and displacement maps are the frist priority on my Kerkythea wish-list, too!

            Gai...
