simple models_simple renders.
inspired by urgen's technique in modelling and texturing.
cucumber was urgen's (tnks) but i need to remodel it again because i can't render the texture in vray. so i have to re draw the face and reapply the texture.
all other things were modelled in SU

Wonderful composition...I agree with Bruce on all points! (Bruce: maybe the tabasco quiets the repeat...I never tried that :`)
-
this is a digital still life. great!
-
thanks guys from your comments. "digital still life" i think this inspires me... thanks for hinting that edson.

The lighting's great! Got a SU screenie? There's some scale issues I think, though. Mind you, I just got out of bed - I could be wrong.
-
here is the screen grab stinkie. good morning btw.
-
a closeup with tomatoes. vignetting effect has been added in photoshop.
-
Nice render, although i reckon another level of detail (bevelling edges etc.) would make it a much better render...
-
Nice equilibrated scene Nomer. I always love your compositions and the subtle light you add.
A little question though: some of the objects are quite hard edged, maybe it is because of sharp AA settings (catmull Rom)?. Did you use Fresnel reflections on those materials?
-
Thanks for the screen grab. I was indeed wrong. Thank God for coffee!

thanks for pointing that remus. i am actually playing with that "round edge with bezier" but then i have difficulty in removing the smoothness when i want to add projected texture.

fresnel reflection has been added. just 1.35multiplier.
.85 blurrr reflection for tomato
.95 fortabasco
.85 for plate- the placemat is just texture with bump and clipmap.
lighted up with two rectangular light from the ceiling and another big rect light in front with very small multiplier, to smoothen the IR calculation but not really affecting the scene.
i reckoned the hard edge is more on unbevelled models pointed out by remus.
