Adobe reader vs. Foxit reader.

Hi friends,
I have been using Foxit to view PDF's for quite some time now as the Adobe one sucks big time.
You would have thought Adobe would have cleaned up their act for their latest release.
Well, they didn't...

Reading the title of your post made me think of that article
I wonder how many people actually use any of the features in adobe that arent scrolling and zooming.

I like Foxit, as well, mainly because of the difference in install sizes with Acrobat Reader: something like 2MB versus 90MB. That's a big deal on something like an Asus Eee.
Only problem with Foxit is that it can't open those rare 3D pdf files. If they become less rare, I may have to go back to Acrobat.

At least some time ago, but things maybe changed rapidly.
What would be a good workflow getting your Sketchup model into a 3D PDF ? -

What would be a good workflow getting your Sketchup model into a 3D PDF ?There's an RPS application they are pushing on the Google SketchUp site, but if you had the Acrobat Pro 3D you could just import an OBJ or 3DS file. I believe I could do it with Photoshop CS3 XT with those same formats, although I don't have time to experiment today. I'm sure there are other ways of doing it. But I really haven't seen a need yet.

Check out Deep Publisher, it's free and you can use skp-files directly...
I thought I had to export to 3DS, but it open skp-files directly..!!

I only knew Deep Exploration - and that is not free. I just tried to export a 3D-PDF the other day with adobe acrobat (in vain of course
) -
Thanks Frederick for that useful link...Deep Publisher sounds like a great solution for making 3D PDF out of SU files.
From what I read on the web, foxit is working hard to support viewing 3D PDF's. -

In case you missed it, a little down the page there is a link to a small, no-frills PDF viewer called Sumatra.

I can't see the option to view 3D Pdfs's with that app, or am I mistaken?Sorry, it's just a little alternative PDF viewer with no 3D support.

Unfortunately I can't check it today, but I'm sure that there's another free pdf-converter with 3D support that can do the job... Let me check a few things...
In the meantime, you can use Deep Publisher to include 3D models in your PP presentations, which is also a very handy feature...

Hypercosm can be included into PP presentations as well and it also has a free version.

It took me hours to figure out how to use Adobe's text tool so I could insert text in a PDF. You would think it would be a noticable and clearly marked icon on the basic toolbar.
