Hide edges
-
Hi all
I'm still watching tools tutorials! Well i've learned that if you select the erase tool and press shift key at the same time you can hide the edges but after that how can you show those edges again? They didn't explain that in the video!
Thanks -
Also, Shift+Ctrl+Erase tool will make them unsoften (see correction below ).
Ctrl+Erease will soften edges (different from simply hiding them)When you hide edges and then go to Edit > Unhide all, they will also unhide unless they are in a different context (i.e. within a group) for instance. Softened edges cannot be hidden this way.
When you hide an edge, it will still separate the faces it is in between. When you soften it, the faces will become a "curved surface" (even if they are coplanar) and you cannot use certain tools on it unless you turn hidden geometry on as Wodan suggested.
There are a bunch of nice trick in all this so just play around, experiment and they will soon become clear.

.Gaieus, unhide what? There is nothing to apply it to. What do you mean in relation to Mavericks question?
or by right clicking on the dotted line through context menu etc. -
Shif+Ctrl+Erase unsoftenes - sorry.
And in relation to Maverick's question, I just expanded things.

Gaieus,
