      G'Day Folks and folkess's

looking for a way to insert/ intersect radial text ( see Skp)

atm i am using 3d text tool
      then i explode said text

regroup each individual letter ( for ease of positioning)
Move into position and rotate to desired angle
      intersect and delete unwanted geometry

all in all a long convoluted process

You'd be better off doing the fit text to curve operation in a 2D graphics program that has special features to do exactly that. CorelDraw, for instance, has a dandy text-on-a-curve function, with all kinds of controls.

After you've got the outlines, you can import them into SU via dxf or dwg and then Push/Pull etc. to suit.

The free 'Inkscape' application does it quite well, too. In fact Inkscape is really rather a good application so long as you can ignore the rather unpleasant visual quality of the UI - on a Mac it has to run under the X Windows library and the UI look really jars with the nice clean OS X UI.

But it is good and it is free. Hard to argue with that.

How about curving in the other direction? These should be on the wish list for function with the 3d tect commmand.
