Is it possible to export with a custom aspect ratio for 2D exports?

When I export the height and width is always linked to the same ratio.

When I export to animation I can choose custom ratio.

What's strange that with a fresh file I get one ratio. However, if I've exported an animation, or even just fiddled with the animation export options, then I get a different 2D export ratio. And that ratio doesn't match what I set in the animation export.

      Anyone?

The 2D aspect ration actually reflects the aspect ratio of your current working window. When you change that (like making your window smaller), the aspect ration changes as well.

This could be a nice workaround when you really need specific sizes BUT there is this messing up with the toolbars which is a pain. Imagine I once had to export a series of square (3500x3500 pixel) images. Sure I could have cropped them later from a bigger image but then exporting time would have been even longer.

There is a plugin called "GoCubic.rb" which creates scene tabs (custom setting) of a virtual cube your viewpoint is in (exports 6 images for assembling a QT Panorama movie from them). This script however allows you to set the export parametres and two shaded sides will appear in your model (the ones that are NOT going to be in the image). Maybe you can use that to create your custom aspect ratios...

I will have a look at it. Thanks for the tip.

The problem is at the office everyone has their own set and layout for the toolbars so if one person needs to update some SU images then we end up with deviating images.

I'll add a request for custom aspect ratio.
