Hi- I've been using SU for about 4 days now and have a few very basic questions. I am designing a rolling equipment rack for my workshop. I've downloaded a component (a caster) from the warehouse into my model. It is sitting there surrounded by a blue box. I would like to save it in my mechanical components library so I can use it again without having to re-download it. How can I do this? Also, once I've saved it into the library, I would like to change a few dimensions so it reflects the actual caster I am going to use and then save the modified caster as "caster2" in my mechanical components library. Once I modify it, how do I add it into the library? Additionally, is there a way to download from the warehouse directly to my library without any intermediate steps? Finally, how do I go about incorporating a component (the caster) into my equipment rack model?
      Thanks for your assistance.

First off DON'T PANIC. (Ha! Arthur Dent!)

Once you have the component in your model you can right-click it and do 'Make Unique', then you can make changes to it without affecting other instances of it elsewhere. When done editing it you can right-click it again and do a 'Save As'. Repeat as necessary.

Make unique will work when more than one instance of the component is in the file open on your screen.
The path to the component library on a pc is:C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 6\Components
right click the component on the component menu, select save as
You can modify the right click save as selection to path straight to the component file
Window (top of the screen), Preferences, Files, Components, There you set the path where you wish to keep them. you will have to save that path to your template and then the all the projects open under that template will 'save as' to that location.

Thanks ehaflett, I have my towel in my gym bag, therefore no need to panic (glad to find another Hitchhiker's fan)! However, when I attempt to make the caster unique, the "make unique" command is not selectable. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
