During the downtime, I felt so ... alone ...
But I'm all better now.

It's so rare to find someone with your devotion and diligence.
Much admiration and respect dude! -
Don't worry Coen, every site (including mine) is down one day or another for some (most often ) a good reason. The only people who are angry in these situations are those who don't know how much work and effort it is to maintain a web site "in good shape".
-
Thanks Coen for your enormous efforts! Compared to my laptop that went belly-up on Friday, your saving the forum went fast!

and again (like so often in the last times) my thanks to you, Coen.
I am really looking forward to see the new main page. it is always good to have important info gathered in one place.
well, and if SCF is shut down for some hours, we will all violate our F5 keys, like thomthom truthfully said

You guys do announcements? Kewl. -
Coen,
Some ruminations based upon your post.
-
I pay for numerous design/architecture magazine subscriptions, each of which provides me significantly less value than SCF.
-
It is very clear from the previous posts in this thread that SCF is an important community for many of us.
-
I would like SCF to be sustainable, vibrant and stable and I don't believe it can be that over the long term unless those providing the service are compensated for their work.
Therefore, it seems like it might be worth considering some sort of subscription plan. I would be quite willing to pay a reasonable annual subscription fee to help put SCF on a sound, sustainable path into the future.
Just a thought.
Fred

Hmmm, have I thanked you yet for the countless hours of work you put into this site? I haven't, have I?
Dankjewel, Coen. Schitterende site. ("Thank you, Coen. Great site.")
