      hello everyone,
i use sketchup for 4 years now and i have always found color by layer mode much better because it keeps the model much cleaner and more organised (u can turn off some layers when the model gets too big too work with) that's because I use sketchup for very complicated models with a lot of detailes (entire small towns)
now, here is my problem, is there some command that can match properties of one object (or face,or edge) and transfer it to onother (like "sample paint" works in "color by material" mode? I hope I've made myself clear.
      thanks for the help

I think this might work for you - match properties ruby script by Didier Bur.

A tool to copy properties from a target picked object to each object of the current selection. Usage: Make a selection, select -Match properties- in the context menu, then pick an object. Choose what properties to match and hit OK. Select another tool to exit.

Install:Just drop it in Plugins folder. Menu: Context.

Thanks for the info Julian, I did not realise that script was available.
I use mtch properties all the time in ACAD and im sure it will prove useful in SU.

I only know about it because I of a ruby script, written/adapted for use with Podium, that is based on that ruby AFAIK.
