        Coen,

Very nice presentation, and one that one can use as a business model IMO.
Your models are awesome and certainly on the level one expects and required for current strategy based games.
I am not up to speed as far as the whole process from concept to release goes in the gaming realm, however I have been involved in a few models for popular games out at the moment.
I do believe there is a place for SU in a large way and unfortunately there are areas it is also lacking.
The physical models are great for SU as the simple and low poly models one can create in SU is exactly what is needed. Texturing unfortunately is lacking and the ability to bake textures to surfaces is sorely missed.
Terrains are not easy to generate in SU as required for external scenes, however for maze type interior shoot’em uppers like Quake and Doom SU would be fantastic at, but for games like Command and conquer where the actual units are best suited for SU the terrain maps would not work.
Now introduce G-max with SU for unit building and you have a great solution, currently many folk use this combination for Modding games with great success.
Have you seen the Crytek game ‘Crysis’? I bet using their terrain editors with SU unit models one would be able to create some amazing stuff, however for best results one would need to use Vista, with direct x 10 for full power of the 3DFX shaders.
Lower detailed games like SimCity, Caesar, C&C Generals etc I suppose can be done with SU alone (texturing of terrains may still be dodgy) but I am not sure how to go about such an endeavor.

Any game designers out there with some advice?

          Wow! very nice models dude.
Love the prism tank, i use those alot for base detroying because they are long range, you all probably have no idea what im saying though.

nice mech but its a little to squarish. needs more design in it, lots of detail though
          keep em up!

nice presentation, Coen (only found it today). didn't know about the workaround to position textures. but I think this is definitely something needed for SU7 - better texture control...

@mrjumpmanv2: I always used two teams of about 10 prism tanks to destroy bases (but only after sending a spy into the enemys base, so that all my tanks are already upgraded once...) 😄
