How does one update inserted files ?

I have tried almost everything. Save the SKP drawing, in layout, selected update nothing happens. It seems like Layout does'nt see that the files has been updated 😞

      Any help ?

      Thanks

Have you tried right clciking the model in layout and selecting 'open with SU'? if you do that instead of openign the file straight in SU it should updae the file in layout.

          Hi Remus

          Thanks for your reply.

It seems to work better, but Layout still looses 'contact' to the Sketchup file 😞 The only way to solve this, is to rename the Sketchup file and then relink. 😞(

Click File-> Document SetUp and select References. Do you have "Check references when loading this Doc" checked? In SketchUp, you can have modified but unsaved Scenes (right click on the Scene tab and save it, and save the document) or modified but unsaved Styles (you'll see the circular arrows indicating an unsaved style), and these are also items of confusion for some folks.

Jorgenson, I am actualy using a french evaluation copy of SU pro and I have seen the answer to your question in the go-2-school.com/podcasts no 18 and what you have to do is:

              • save your changes made in SU then
-in Layout go to File/Document configuration
-Select your file and click actualise

I might not have the exact words because my version of SU is in french

              Salutations (Best regards) Bert

Hi, I know this function, but I'm told that the file is allready "uptodate" -so it won't reload 😞

I had this problem once as well. I ended up unlinking the file, linking it to another, unlinking again and linking back to the correct (updated) SU model file. That worked as the LO didn't want to update the file with the updated model file with the same name as the one used in LO. So I solved it "old school" style.
