No problem jenu
-
Nice looking Remus .
I love the wooden bowl. -
A little mirror i made (in real life) a while ago. Kinda wish id made it higher poly now...
p.s. sorry jenu, photobucket didnt work
-
My first try at indigo, and im sold i couldnt get this scene to render properly in podium for love nor money but first time in indige and it looks sort of not to bad. Theres a lot wrong with it (like oly the top surface of th water showing) but i didnt spend much time setting up. swings and rounsabouts
-
Thanks to bob (greyhead) for the model. Indigo, about 2 hours.
-
2 hours?? anyway, it's very good looking!
-
Yeah, the main render cleaned up in about 30 mins but there was still a lot of noise in the shadows, i'm guessing tis because not a lot of light was getting to them (what with them being shadows and all)which meant it took longer for enough light to fall on them to make it look clean and unnoisy.
-
Yeah, these caustics renders with dielectric glases can push up render time. Nice output - though I may have used a different floor; maybe a simple colour or a plain plastic like one.
-
More playing with shiny stuff
Gai, i like using this particular floor because i find it highlights how the materials curves the light, where as a plain floor doesnt show this very well.
And thanks to taff goch for the model ("borrowed" it from the 3d warehouse)

OK, makes sense.
This is another nice one!
-
Please excuse the frankly shocking quality of this render, as it was meant to be more of an experiment ot see if i could do a working telescope: the conclusion, sort of.
-
9 hours! not wasted time though, i jsut left it running while i was at college, just to see how nice it would look when finished. I like it
-
I like these renders - they appeal to the mathematician in me I guess. Here's one that I struggled with if you feel like testing it out.

Simple and wooden
-
Hey, that looks good. Thank you.

Ive got another one cooking at home, hopefully it'll be a bit more interesting than this one, the model was a bit more interesting at least.
EDIT: computer crashed no exciting render for a while.
-
Well it jsut so happens that the render i was going to do wouldnt have worked.
Change of plan:
-
What render app. have you used for making these, Remus..??
And can you share some info about how you've done the texturing on the spherical shape..??
I feel that SU is so poor when it comes to spheres, but maybe you can shed some light...!? -
The first 4 were podium renders, and form then on they're all indigo.
To texture the wooden bowl i used a prjected texture on all the surfaces, did the same for the completely wooden sphere as well.
To do the wood/glass sphere i intersected a series of planes with the sphere before applying a straight texture.
Nothing very special really
