Oh, Well - I did my part in trying to share the Gospel of free salvation
My 11yo son has a hard time knowing when to shut his mouth to stop people hating him too. 3 brownie points for mpowell1234567890 on his score card to get into heaven. You did your part, you tried and people hated that you did.
Let me guess, you take your bible and stand on a street corner in the city on Friday night's babbling on like a loon "THE LORDS SALVATION, REPENT REPENT REEPENNNNNNT!!!!" while people just walk straight on by. Do you want to know what people think about those guys? One of three thoughts:
- He is a freak,
- He is mentally unstable,
- I feel sorry for the guy, everyone thinks he is a freak or mentally unstable.
I am starting to have the same thoughts about you.
Any hoo... back to the SU7... I just hope that they have a native Linux version so I can dump "Bill's BS OS", though from what I have heard it doesn't seem likely. Using OpenGL instead of DirectX would make it easier, that's for sure.

nevertheless I would like to see the DirectX version, just to know, what grade of realism we can achieve.
I allways ask myself: "why do these computer games (crysis, farcry...) have such superb grafic in real time and you still can manipulate (shoot) objects? and why can't 3D modellers produce comparable images?"well, the answer to my question would probably be, that firstly it is a matter of interest, secondly a matter of finances (why should google employ a hundret people to improve the graphic, when the main focus is modelling and there are loads of bugs to be fixed still) and thirdly because the textures are mapped perfectly to every object in the game worlds and therefore optimized for a good realtime graphic.
nevertheless I would very much like to see a DirectX version

This is just a guess, but I am pretty sure Aidan has a new Sketchup book coming out in the next couple of months, and if history repeats than SU7 comes out within a week of its launch.
Cool, so - My guess Sketchup 7 comes in week 3 of November? Does September Count? Please Let me know, thanks.

I hope it will be released on a frieday afternoon or a saturday. cause I can't keep on working with tears of joy in my eyes and my heart racing like after a marathon (not that I ever tried to run a marathon )

Direct X capability will definitely get my Vote, unless, someone would bother to update "open Gl" to an extent that kicks ass.... ... and MS to OBLIVION

just a guess were the operative words. I could be way off.... Take a cold shower... I though I was sad but you guys are saddererererer than me.

Alas, now in the Emirates lies the architectural PARADISE
Er, that really rather depends on your definition of "architectural paradise". If you mean that it is a place that is all about making lots of money with very little real architectural talent, then fair enough.
Personally I think that a place that is all about making money with very little architectural talent is architectural HELL.
Let's put it another way, I think P Diddy would love Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Oh, Well - I did my part in trying to share the Gospel of free salvation, but men do have freewill - but in the end, there's consequences.. For now on, I'll post gospel tracts in 3D on the 3D warehouse. To further spread the Gospel truth that Jesus is real. ~John 3:16. Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship with God through Jesus. It's your choice..
Dude, look, leave it alone. I'm a militant atheist, but I don't go making comments about the great 'sky fairy' - well not until now at least. This forum is is for discussing Sketchup - mostly. It isn't a place for arguing about religion, and let's face it, that never achieved anything in 2000 years did it?
PS don't even think of saying, "I'll pray for your soul".
-
Please, everybody who has ever posted in this thread, go back in your posts and delete every word, sentence or line related to religion and any mentioning of God and ranting with each other.
I can do this as well but I don't like editing other members' posts unless ultimately necessary.(This is not particularly against or because of your last post, Bigstick, so don't take it personally).
Thanks in advance for your understanding and co-operation.
-
by the way: great thread to get involvedin religous discussions.
I believe in SketchUp 7 beeing released within 2008. (well, actually it is more a desperate hope )

I agree with you, plot. It's a true hunch

do you really mean it, Gaieus?
'cause then we will lose Bruell's beautyful link to this video too!

No offence taken - naturally
I did warn everyone early on though...
-
I definitely have to apologize. love to discuss about such topics. and for SketchUp means more than just a fancy tool for many of us, this thread was the perfect playground. sorry for that
(however, I think it is unnecessary to delete all the religion-related post, for all the other posts didn't really give much information about the threats title either . feel free to delete my posts though, moderators)

For me the most convenient way would be to delete the whole thread (no dates for SU 7 anyway).
-
true. loads of words and no real message behind it. you definitely have my blessing for that. remove the whole thing
-
Then what about the growing post count?
10 pages = nearly 250 post! -

I can think of more threads this applies to.
The 'Are you ready for news about SU7?' thread for instance.
After more than 10 pages, I think we can conclude that YES, we are ready for news.
Unfortunately, there is no real info on 7 in that thread at all. -
Kwist,
You exactly know that "real info" cannot / should not / will not be leaked about any future or beta releases. So any speculation on the forums about SU 7 for instance is just stabbing in the dark.
-
Yes I know.
I should have put more 'winks' in my post above.
