feet and inches? no thanks. im trying to get an SU model into layout with its dimensions. The problem is layout has decide its going to put everythin in feet and inches. The SU model's units are set to mm, and the layout settign s say mm, but it persists in using inches.

      any clues anyone?

I wonder what's up with your file. It worked OK with my test files. Is the SU file link in Layout updated? The scenes/styles/layout views/Model Info settings hassle has become quite complicated and the user does not always know the range where changes to different settings take effect.

Ok, i tihnk ive figured it ut, before i was copying and pasting the group form a bigger model. For whatever reason copying and pasting changes the units to inches.

Workaround: copy group to seperate file and then insert that file.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner - yes, known bug. In general, try to use the facilities within SketchUp and LayOut to work with models, because the clipboard simply wasn't built for 60 MB model files, and just because you can use it at times doesn't mean you should.

Thata the thing though, the component i wanted to copy across was jsut a small one, hardly worthy of its own file. It would make far more sense if you could jsut copy and paste it into layout.

Apart form this, im quite liking layout, it seems very intuitive.
