Need help to draw this.

Hello SU users!
I need help to model this. How to?All tips are welcome.
thanks

Heres a very quick tut, feel free to ask questions if you dont understand a part of it.
-
P.s. that tut gives more of a straight spiral than a rounded spiral as is shown in the pic. To get that effect, create several of th components shown in the tut and stack the on top of each other. Youll then need to scale them to fit, but this should give a much better spiral.

Bruce another fine example of organic modeling... thanking for the time you put into this and the generosity of trying to help other members.

I'm such a sucker...People show up here out of the blue from time to time and I pour a little heart into some request they have...in return I get a "thanks guys" and the author of the post is never seen again. There is no way that "dou" dude could have built this thing....you wonder why he would post.. what was on his mind.....I must say regardless that I learned a few things that will be valuable.
Do I sound like a cry baby...? well yes I guess so. It won't stop me from falling into that trap again though. It is so consuming...genuine thanks or no thanks.Let me tell you, I know exactly how you feel. And as if I knew this was going to happen to you.
But do relize that there are others here too, following this thread, appreciating what you are doing.cheers,

Bruce,
Beautiful model. Love the smooth curves.
You know the saying "Chance favors the well-prepared mind." which is attributed to Louis Pasteur... well every time you do one of these assists you're improving your odds.

Hi Bruce,
Like Wodan says. It's not only one person who you are doing this thing (and others) but for all the community here who are watching and learning nice little tricks every time. You can't imagine (oh yes, I'm sure you can) how much I have learnt at all the forums since I started to use SU just by lurking around.

bruce, loving the work
i've tried stuff like this in the past but without success. i think i'm having trouble trying to understand how to twist an object round another object, i can taper and twist a single object, just not round another
can anyone help explain?

cheers very much, don't bust a gut to get it done asap though

I don´t spend 12 hours in front of a computer, and my work demands a lot of time out of office, and at the office I use autocad. So, I use Su just like a hobby. And I also like the "good things" in life, like drink a good wine, eating a good codfish, the flavour of a good café expresso watching a good soccer game with my family.
This "pinacle" (forgive my english)belongs to a small church with almost 500 years,in Lisbon.

More photos
Come to Portugal to see more!!

no hard feelings modelhead, but i had a hard work week and next weeks will be the same, not even had time to my other passion, modeling cars. When I finished the church will be posted in 3d warehouse, ok?
and once again, thanks for your help.
