      after loading Google Earth?

Admit it, you looked up your house.
Ok, then what is the second thing?

I looked up the great wall of China and followed it as best I could.

I mapped every Formula 1, Moto GP and World Superbike racetrack in the world!

I also created a SketchUp model of the house my wife and I were renting, and now the house we own, and placed them up there too!

Google Earth is very cool! ...especially if you need to take a brain break.

          Cheers,

I don't remember the first thing, but in the first session, I looked up the house where I was born and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. It was neat to see the trees all grown up and how the yards I used to play in were landscaped different. "The swamp" is now a shopping strip center. 😒

Interesting story. In the early '70s, when astro-turf was still very new, my dad had the side yard and part of the front yard covered over in asphault, and then laid down astro turf. My mom was NOT a happy camper. I'm sure it looked like doo-doo. My biggest memory of it was during the fall, when the chinook winds would come up, and all the astro-turf would blow up against the house and fence, leaving exposed black top. Yours truly always got the task to go outside and "straighten the grass". I was pleased to see it gone during my Google Earth session. Closure.

            Todd

I revisited all the different places I'd been to on vacation...from the campsite at Split Mountain Gorge in Utah to a villa in the Greek islands. It's really cool looking up all those places you'd half forgotten about.

I cannot remember the first time - as my house cannot be seen due to the very blury image. Yet I did really check the town (some brighter spots in the vast green) for sure.

The town I grew up in to see how it's changed? Haven't been back there yet but maybe someday....

Me 2- Looked up my previous residences, coastal landmarks, and places I'd been when in the Navy.

Sidebar... Lately, I'm thinking someone could make a lot of money by applying store-names, etc on rooftops. I think it would be a great time-saver when looking for specific stores when you know you're very close to it. Think of the advertising potential!
BTW- I'm too old to get into this, but if you do, please mention you heard it here πŸ˜‰
