I always thought it looked like some kind of torture device. Out of curiosity, what did you think it was used for?

I was thinking it was some kind of rope braider... and imagined 3 or 4 twines going to one... via the center to the top pole... looked like something you could easily get caught up in...

The detail on this model is great. My mother in law uses a surger quite a bit. Actually she showed me how to use it when I made "Trumpet Bags". Just fleece material that you slip your instrument into for extra protection in a large gig bag.
