I recently reformatted my computer, and as such, i had to reinstall sketchup. Luckily i backed up my models. After reinstalling sketchup, i opened one of my models and continued working on it as i had been before. Unfortunately, sketchup was running extremely sluggish, and i was having constant freezing issues while working. I had not made any hardware changes.

My question is, how do i improve the performance of sketchup? I have tried turning off OpenGL rendering, shadows, profiles and edges, but i am still having trouble.

      Hi,
Did you re-install the same drivers, especially the video drivers ?
Do you have changed the OS (XP to Vista for instance) ?
Tell us more about the changes 💭

I think my drivers may have been the problem. I had v6, latest version was v14.

And it seems to be handling a 16MB model rather easily now. Thanks!
