Ok, last time I worked in SU a couple days ago at home I noticed this weird thing happening. I was working off some jpgs and they would distort while in xray mode.

Well, it's doing it again today and not only that, but I can't seem to paint, click or anything on any face that has another face or object behind it. It's hard to explain, so I made a flash movie showing a small example of what it was doing.

In the movie, I double click the face I want. It SHOULD highlight the face and bounding lines, but instead, it opens up the component to edit it of the leg on the opposite corner. Trying to paint this face, only either A) paints the inside face of whats behind it or B) paints the face of whats behind it.

Anyone else having these issues?? This is getting very frustrating. The only way I can push/pull, or paint or do anything is to either hide everything behind it or rotate so there is nothing behind it.

I'm not sure this will help for I have never had this problem but try to go to Window > Preferences > OpenGL > and check "Correct reversed picking driver bug". If it does not help, try fiddling around the other setting options there.

Thanks, I'll give that a try and see what happens.

The "Correct reverse picking driver bug" function works only with some older graphics cards. Lately this problem has been reported by many users with laptop/desktop computers with motherboard-integrated Intel graphics chips. These are not meant for serious 3D work. If you have one of those, try first turning off Fast Feedback, and if that doesn't help, Hardware Acceleration. This will slow SU down with all but the smallest models, so the best option would be to install a real graphics card (preferably Nvidia-based)if your computer has the option to do that.

Unfortunately, that is not the case either. I purchased this computer about 2 years ago for gaming and upgraded the necessaries because I knew I would also be doing work on it (both Photoshop and SketchUp). I am currently running:

            HP Presario SR1750NX
            AMD 3500+
            4GB RAM
ATI Radeon X1300 512MB Graphics card (Driver date 1.22.08)
            Windows XP SP2
            24" HDRI monitor

But this has just started happening even though I started running v5 on this machine and upgraded to v6 with no problems. I'm stumped...

A windows update may have done something to your video driver. Reinstall your video driver/look for an update while you're at it.

You know, that might be it. I recently updated the drivers manually while checking to see if anything new was out. I updated on or about 1.25.08, which could be the culprit.

Maybe I can roll it back and see if anything happens...
