Mac vs PC weirdness

Thanks Chuck.
Just to make it clear, as it turned out in this topic, the panorama created and textured on Mac, didn't show any images on Win.

Here is the link to the original file: link
You can access the file as well as the individual jpegs.
I am dying to hear Support's view on this.
Thanks.

Now I'm pretty sure that in this topic the problem was/is the same.
I1ll post this into the original thread as well. -
Thanks, Gaeius, for staying on top of this.

Hi Chuck,
I think I may know what is going on with this issue. I believe your images have an exif (common to digital cameras) format - true? If so, we have finally isolated a bug with exif formatted images. Those images can display correctly on the Mac but fail to display on the PC. Unfortunately, the only workaround that I have found is to save the images with a different format. We are working on this issue though.
Does that help?
Best regards,
Tricia

Thank you for the update, Tricia; it is great to know that you guys are investigating.
You are absolutely correct that the images have exif data. They were originally shot in RAW format from a Canon XTI. I then stitched all of the RAW images into a single panorama, used photoshop to cut the panorama into pieces smaller than 1024 x 1024 and saved the pieces out as jpgs.
I was under the impression that all formats saved in Photoshop contain exif data. Is that not correct? Or do you know of a way to strip the exif data out save a clean version of the image?
Thanks again for the help and I look forward to figuring out a good workaround.

Hi Tricia and Chuck,
Could it be done in a way that you create a mask or selection or whatever in PS and then copy it and paste it into a new file of the same size and save that without the exif data?
(I'm just wonderind - I don't use PS but Corel PhotoPaint which is similar but not the same.)

I didn't even know you could save without the exif data. I am going to work a couple of tests today, if I have some extra time.
The mother of all computers is scheduled to arrive tomorrow (pant pant) so I need to get my act together today for the migration.

What machine will that be?
-
3.2 ghz 8 core mac pro. Starting out with 10 gig ram (expandable to 32!) and 2 HDD, one 500 and one 1T (expandable to 4 1T). IT is also coming with the Nvida 8800 GT graphics card (and the computer supports 2 graphics cards!) and a 22' and a 19" monitor.
I have been waiting 5 weeks for this bad boy to ship and it is scheduled to arrive today! I am toying with the idea of driving around looking for the Fedex truck (small town here) and getting it early.
I have benchmarked a bunch of animation exports, both SU and raytraced, so I will have a good idea how much faster the new one is from the Macbook Pro I have been using.
I am also looking forward to doing some top flight video editing to further polish my animations. Can anyone say "flicker filter"?
I am having a hard time concentrating (for the last week, really )
