Seems everyone's "all over the board" on this one. I like to mix it up a bit on WinAmp, but mostly rock to metal.

What do I listen to these days? Autechre, AFX, Plaid, and maybe some Radiohead or Nine Inch Nails when I want to cheer myself up. Our IT tyrant has banned internet radio at work, but before that I spent a lot of time with SomaFM's Cliqhop and this weird Czech station that is all Trent Reznor, all the time (NINnet).
Do you really listen to Rammstein, Jeff?

Yea, Du Hast and Engle are a couple of my screaming favorites. I like NIN too. Devo; Kraftwerk; Karl Orff; RL Burnside; Soul Coughing, Eels; Liquid Soul; Medeski, Martin and Wood; Bitter:Sweet; Sountrack from Baraka; and the Pixies have all been on my play list in the last week.

Buffett and Bob Marley were about it over the holiday weekend.

It's a pity Kompressor, my favorite pseudo-German, pseudo-alien, death metal artist from the Midwest, has retired from the music business. But his music lives on "to crush puny America with German industrial might":

Try "K is for Kompressor"...you just cannot imagine how wonderful the video was. At one point he (rather flabbily) sings in the shower...with the alien mask on.

And then, "for something completely different", listen to Herr K's version of "The Girl from Ipanema."

Kompressor = the stuff. very funny - I remember the first time I heard that disc a couple years ago.. couldn't stop laughing.

It suddenly occurred to me: in YouTube is immortality.

By the way, the singing-in-the-shower scene was in Herr K's other hit video, "You have to Synthesize."

The "Girl from Ipanema" is really out there. Better than the original though!

I am currently listening to the "Glory of Gabrieli" Empire Brass 2006.
It is really charging me up and getting me going.

Boomer might have some nice music but I just clicked on all the stations and only one was playing music, all the others were commercials, no thanks.

OK METAL HEADS! I got the best lost in your work what happened to my day tunes....Ready for this?
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart! That's right......I experiment with clients. what plays during the meetings seems to have a big effect on the meeting and what is accomplished. Sometimes the clients are more cooperative too. Another great guitar cd I have is Norman Kraft he is a smooth classical Italian acoustic player.

I also have the Requiem on my 'pod. Of course, it's a rather shocking shuffle to go from that to "Under My Wheels."

Okay, I may be kidding, I listen to a lot of the Tragically Hip, Reel Big Fish, Breaking Benjamin, Benny Benassi, Tiesto, Techno, and rock in general!

                                      To be honest Guys,
I haven't heard a lot of the stuff mentioned.
But I do like quality music [with a capital Q].
When I'm busy doing a groovy SU model I often put on a disk of Lawrence Welk's Greatest Hits [volume5]...or even The Best of Mantovani.
If you want to listen to something a bit more modern and hip-hop [as it were], you cant go past Richard Clayderman!

Seeing those Kompressor tubes reminded me of the truly great Nash The Slash, who had a cult following in the early 1980's. I've just enjoyed watching a number of his performances.

Nash was definitely a bit more polished than Kompressor, but you are right...there is a certain insane shared aesthetic...or maybe it's just the masks!

Is Nash really covering Astronomy Domine on an electric ukulele in one of those videos?

Thanks for bringing him to my attention.
