For some reason, the last couple of days, this forum keeps logging me out, an I have to log in again to see attachments and make posts.

    Have any changes been made?

No changes have been made as far as im aware Al.
We did have an incident last week with a server crash which logged everyone out, but since logging back in no more problems have been reported.

I had the same problem with Internet Explorer. After changing to Netscape Navigator it's gone.

Or perhaps it's you who changed browser preferences?

The system logs you out after 1 hour of inactivity automatically. Ths howeves should not affect you if you are actively browsing the forums.

after the last week issue, there were several complains about the system - sometimes deleting board cookies (somewhere bottom left of the board index) or maybe your sketchucation cooki in your browser helps.

Please, try these solutions and kepp us updated about this, Al!

When you log in do you remember to tick the box "Log me in automatically each visit"?

What happens to me fairly often is upon trying to submit a reply I'll get a message that I need to log in. I do but then the whole message I was trying to submit gets wiped out and the back button won't get it back. As a slow typist given to relatively long posts this is very frustrating. When I start I am definitely logged in and, although I am slow, an hour typically wouldn't have transpired. I also add that my internet connection is fairly stable so I don't think it is a factor.

              Regards, Ross

(To get around this problem I often select all my text and "copy" so that if I experience the glitch I can paste my reply text back in and try again. The problem is remembering to do that copying).

I'm kind of used to that - not because of the glitches here but over the Groups...

I see that the "Log me in automatically" check box had become unchecked. So I checked it again to see if it helps.

Regarding losing messages when you are not logged in properly, that was the reason I switched ot Firefox for a browser. It does a much better job of "remembering" what you typed when you have to back up. Sometimes when I am posting to a Wiki I would get a timed out message (especially with SuWiki which is unbelievably slow and subject to timeouts). With IE, the message would be lost. With Firefox, I could back up, have the whole message there, and submit it again.

Yeah, this is true. I also use FF - not exclusively for this reason

For me, the "Log me in automatically" button does not seem to work-at least such as it did at the old @Last forums.
