SU and Podium does it again

pete.. thats brilliant...
the night scene rocks!!!
i made it go thru some PS torture... nothing fancy just some good ol' vignetting and adding a bit of sunshine! (i feel the render a tad bit blue for my taste though!)

Nice job, JJ...
I like the feeling of that image... Looks like a late evening/sun set shot... -
Solo for president! Hey solo nice model. I impressed with your speed and quality.
Did you design the landscaping or did they already have that designed. You design skills are amazing. Very well composed rocks, plants, trees seem to be very well placed.
Congratulations! -
a very nice and for me interesting composition!
a question please
ive seen your SU composition in the podiumforum, there are the 2D tree
s with the with underground in the background and i think the same one in the foreground with the shadow from the rectangle of the picture
in the render you can see the trees in the background and the shadow
s without the with underground
ive tried anything but without success, what
s the trick?? -
tholu
If you want to post your model (next door) or email it to me explaining what you want to achieve, I will see what I can do to solve your issue.

solo, the model and rendering are amazing, but what makes it even more amzing is that it was done under 7 hrs. Couldn't even image that sort of time limit, I've got a looonng way to go.

Thanks alpro.
You must understand this is not the norm, the only reason I was able to do it in such a short time was the pressure of completion by morning, another thing was the client understood his dilemma and had low expectations thus giving me less pressure to achieve photo realism. On the other hand being a referral from an existing customer that sold me as being fast (in this industry that equates to well priced) I needed to achieve an acceptable result in the short window of time and at a reasonable fee.
All went well and the now new client has his funds secured and construction will commence in March, unfortunately he had contracted a builder prior to meeting us so maybe next time I can obtain the build too (my wife has a construction company).
I use SU every day and over the last three years and not without my 3D connexion Space explorer I have a very comfortable workflow that has gotten faster and I believe better everyday.

Nice model, especially a 7 hourer!!
Could you give me an idea of what spec pc/mac you use to make this. I'm battling along on quite a good pc but it just doesnt cut it for large scale landscapes that i need to create.
Cheers

-
Solo, this is one impressive image for the amount of time you were able to spend on it. I love it.

You are officially my idol. 7 hours?!
Was that just for the modeling? How long did the renders take?May I ask what the bill came to for this project? (PM if to private.)
And your hardware stats?
Sorry for all the questions but you got me kinda star struck.

That was total project, the render (final render) took under 30 minutes.
That job I ended up giving away as a freebie, as after bank approval the client offered our company another project including using us as the building contractor.I used an AMD dual core 5000+
Vista ultimate
4GB ram
1x 8800gtx
(I have a quad but it was running an animation render using Vue so I did not want to disturb it)
