      remus,

The easiest way I can think of is by (in each level) selecting all and paint default.
You need to enter each level. But still you can tackle more (all) entities in one level at once.

It's a question of balance....the number of textures against the complexity (in terms of nested groups/components) of the model.

If you have a fairly simple model with few groups but a load of textures, the easiest way is as above...select as much as possible and paint the default colour. But you will have to burrow into groups and components separately.

If you have a complex model, then it may be quicker to do it all from the Materials browser. On the In Model tab, first purge any unused materials, then right click on any remaining ones and use the context menu that pops up to forcibly delete them.

If you want to remove them all in one swoop you can use the remove materials ruby script located on this page.

          http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/en_edi_page.htm

Just select everything and run the script. Then you can purge your materials. Or you can also grab the PurgeAll script there too which purges your layers, components and materials all at the same time.

i think im going to have to do that, altohugh there isnt too many amterials in the model, so should be relatively painless. crosses fingers

You can remove individual textures by bringing up the Materials menu, selecting 'in model' (the House button) and then right click and deleting the textures one by one - I guess that could take a while if you want to remove them all though.
