Beautifull images Solo.
One question. How do You place one image
over another so they exactly fit.
I understand one is directly from SU
and the other from render app. -
Thanks mateo.
There is two ways of doing it:
-
Export the 2d line work at the same dimentions as render (however sometimes they still do not match up and you need to manually align it)
-
In Podium you can render at same resolution as your desktop resolution, thus the native resolution of line 2d export is exactly the same as render, then if you have a widescreen as I do you simply crop the merged images in post editor.

Solo,
I suppose more practice is needed. Being a maxwell user
and not a very regular one i find it very difficult to
control the final output to match the SU line work, but
as I said Your images inspire me to put more effort in.
Thanks for the feedback. -
Beautifull, finally something useful and nice in this gallery, I dont mean that other items are not good but this is something excellent and I wish to see more pictures,
thank you. -
Very nice work..Would that snow texture be available someplace to download or is it private?

Some kind of WOW!!! I'm quite impressed, and inspired, thank you very much!
-
As Tom said this is a Wow of some kind
And reliving Dirk stirs up the dust in my mindYour beautiful images still blow my head
Oh these houses should end up in gingerbread -
wow again..the gentle tones from the sun in the last one are great.. love the background castle and sky..
i know its weird to say this, with all the great podium renders going around....but these may have really sold me on podium.. lol.. (i'm assuming its podium??)
-
Thirty hours, how does that relate to actual days start to finish?
-
Beautiful Solo, really nicely done. It's always good to see something a little different, can be very inspiring.
-
Solo,
30 hours! Wow. This is incredible for so little time. These images are inspiring.
I see you had to think about how to make the snow. Did you model the snow or is it a texture? This is really good work solo. -
Thanks guys, I have resumed work on this model and so far I have used 17 hours and it seems on track. I have textured the buildings (remembering it needs to have a toon feel to it)
I will post again with more details when completed, may be in a week or so as client is pushing the Gaul village for sooner completion.

Pete, your link is to the main imageshack site, not to your image...help please.

I think you've got it looking pretty good so far the only crit I have is some of the texturing applied to the dormer roof's look a bit off ie rotated, not parallel to the horizontal edges
-
Pete, the extra link you supplied worked great, thank you very much! These are wonderous images...do keep 'em coming.
I am especially fascinated with how much variety you have attained with a couple of versions of the same model!!! What great "grand plan" to study, thanks again!
More please.

I agree with Tom, great variety, much different than without textures, in the first pictures, it looks all the same, but now it's starting to look like a a town.
I guess what it needs now is some wooden carts, or some boxes and other small stuffs to give it sense of life.
