Insert components
-
Hi there all, I hope someone can help?
I am hoping to use sketchup to crunch bin loading problems. I have drawn my container (an aircraft hold) then I want to drag and drop different sized components (cubes) inside to work out the best loading order or even if the planned load would fit.
Is there an easy way to draw say 200 different size cubes other than drawing out each rectangle individually, correcting the dimensions in the VCB, draging out the height, correcting the dimensions, adding a 3D nu,mber for identification later, making the whole thing a component and setting a horizontal glueing plane.
Would ideally hope for something like plugin to extract the data from an excel workbook or something similar, but to be honest even a quick way to draw a cube from entering three dimensions would save half the time!
Cheers

One way to do it, is to use a CAD program and you can enter 3D co-ords there. Otherwise sorry mate I'm not sure where else to go.
