[Tutorial > Modeling] Fluted & Tapered Column Tutorial
-
Well,
A while ago I ran across this problem of someone in the "Old Forums" - he needed an (Ionic or Corinthian way) fluted column, more exactly he wanted to know how to create one. Although when needed, I usually make it in a different way but then I had to find out something he could understand (i. e. I could explain).
So here it is - in a way that I used Scenes for the step-by-step tutorial. It postulates that one can already make half and quarter spheres and is aware of the nature of alignment.
The column has 20 "cannelures"(flutes) and also has an "enthasis" (tapered in a bulging way) but no pedestal or capital.

Gaieus,
Good tutorial. A well-made column is a beautiful elegant thing. Still as popular today as they were 2000 years ago.

Thanks

I don't know but there are other recent here

I've re-uploaded.
I made it with native tools only and nowadays when there are so many, cool plugins, it's much easier to model this kind with them.
