Arches, Arches... Arches...
-
Arches have been part of our construction history for centuries. Their structural and architectural beauty mesmerizes us even nowadays and maybe in the future.
It has been a while since I have been busy developing my book. It is dedicated to novel forms that may arch roofs provide.
The process is simply crafting a new alphabetical system out of arches. Then combining those alphabet letters to generate new forms. Each member of the system is delegated an arched roof. So when you are filling a simple pattern|plan with those symbols, are generating a new combination of forms. As arches are self-supporting, these forms could find their way into many realms. from villages to contemporary architecture to constructions that may built using 3D printing systems on Mars.

Interesting thoughts and shapes.

Thank you Dave.
Models are done in Sketchup, rendered using Twilight, post-pro in Krita. One of the models also was 3D printed.
I thought it worth it to spread the idea. -

I thought it worth it to spread the idea. What did you do in Krita?
3D printed.

Yes, it is worth spreading.

Wish I could think like that.
Maybe is is my lack of architectural knowledge/skills.

Basically, I rendered the forms only. To match them with a desert/mountain background I used Krita.

It has been my answer to this endeavor to find a common ground between identity, contemporary and sustainability. I hope you can develop your own language based on this.

If I ever lose the child's inquisitive nature and always asking 'WHY', I will know (Or not maybe) that I am truly beyond hope and into the realms of putting pencils up my nose while saying 'Wibble' a lot.
Pardon the Black Adder quote.
