Is there a way to toggle the front face when drawing a rectangle? Used to be a seemingly random chance of a rectangle face up or face down. With the new upgrade I get every rectangle facing down, all need to be reversed. I can't find a toggle to reset so typically they face up. Is there one?
      thanks in advance.

That change with 2021.1 was intended to prevent users from creating a bunch of reversed faces when the pull walls up. You can reverse the face by right clicking on it and choosing Reverse Faces but why would you want to do that?

On the left is what you get in previous versions when you start with the back face up. On the right, the results with the face correctly oriented from the start.

I draw a lot of walls, so I appreciate the change for push pull. However, I also start concept plans with simple rectangles for space planning. Is there a way to reset the default to forward-facing for a rectangle?

There is no setting for changing that behavior. With 2021.1 when you draw a rectangle on the ground plane it will be drawn with its front face oriented upward. I still don't understand why you want the back face to be up.

My computer defaults to Back up. I prefer front up. My default colors are Back is grey, and front is white

Unitl the recently released 2021.1 drawing a rectangle on the ground plane always results in the back face up. There's no setting to change that. With the release of 2021.1, that was changed so it's front face up. In previous versions you have to manually reverse the face after you draw it.
