Missing asset effects after reopening saved SU!

Hi all im using SU 2018 with vray
Was working on a project and added several reflective and emmissive effect to the project and it was gone the next morning. I reworked the effects and saved it just in case and last night when i reopened the saved file the effects and render settings are all gone again. Im perplexed please advise!
