I am working with sketchup for over a couple of months now and getting better and better every day... but i can't figure out how to do this..

      https://i.imgur.com/CYm2bG1.png

I want to remove the left and right part but would like to have it at an angle (see the lines)..

I wanted to use Fredo6 visuhole plugin but that doesn't work for now, so i need to find another option.. Can anyone tell me how i can make it work?

      Thanks!

One of the fundamentals of sketchup is using Intersect to cut faces. You just need to draw or place a face where you want to cut then intersect the geometry and remove the waste.
Here I use inferencing to create the face through the piece, but I could also have used a rectangle drawn on any axis and rotated into place.

A quicker method is to grab the top line with the move tool and move it to the intersection . You can use the arrow keys to make it easier to lock the direction. Creates your mitre in two clicks without the need to erase anything.

I use Zorro2 for slicing through objects.

            Discussion page here.

Make sure you're in parallel view and perpendicular to what you're cutting. I use "z" as a shortcut. Works on SU Pro 2021 here. Used another version before.

It will leave a hole in an object as yours. It's easy enough to patch by drawing a line to one side or use "Make Faces."

Zorro adds a context menu item to the section plane, slice model at section, so you can use that to position your cut accurately rather than needing to be in perfect alignment.

There are always many ways to do things in sketchup.

One other thing, Eric. After you make the slices with Zorro it's easier to just turn the parts you want to delete into a group (I use shortcut "g") and then delete it. It's easier than erasing all the bits and pieces one by one.

Another benefit of the section zorro, no cleanup.

That works sometimes. Wouldn't work in this case.

As pbacot points out, moving the top doesn't deal with the cut out at the bottom.
