Tags - Prevent tag Deletion

I use TIG Guides_Proxies a lot. Besides the plugin to make guidelines to Guides_Proxies, I will draw alignment lines and lock the line and then tag it with "Guides_Proxies".
However, the other day on a large project with many Guides_Proxies, I accidentally erase the tag. That means all the Guides_Proxies went to the untagged position. And that meant, I had to search out every Guide_Proxies. A lot of work.
So I was wondering, is there a way to make a "tag" non-deletable.
Or am I missing something in the program?
Thanks in advance

You can't 'lock' a tag, but you can lock groups & component-instances.
In earlier versions you could select everything assigned a specif tag by selecting one thing and then using the context-menu to select all in the active-context which share that tag.
Then when they are selected use the context-menu to 'lock' those...BUT that context-menu choice has not been available for several versions...
Sorry...

Well TIG thanks for the reply.
I guess I will need to be more careful. One thing I did notice after that disaster, I tried to find all the places that I had added the Guides_Proxies and I guess I didn't find all the guides. Because when I exported to a 3d DWG, I saw areas that had the text, "Guide to Proxies" in my 3d CAD file. They were scattered all about the model. In the SketchUp file, I tried everything I could to locate these "guides" but couldn't locate or make visible these wondering "guides"
Anyway, thanks to reply and help.
Now just use your "plugin master" weight/charm to make the SketchUp team to make TAGs undeletable.
The above was humor. Not good humor, however, meant in jest.
