      Hi there everyone!
I'm new here, but i have a along experience with SketchUp.
I have a question regarding how to texture the ground with different bricks layout.
      I will explain:

I need to recreate this ground cover in sketchup:

I need to color most of the area with a regular brick texture, but i need to create a buffer of perpendicular bricks around each grass polygon:

Problem 1: I don't want to draw and then paint every individual brick (it's a huge and amorphic area) and then roteting the texture for each one...
Problem 2: I just don't know how to do it effective and quick.

      Please help, SketchUp geniouses!!!

Hi. I am not sure from your profile but you may be using a version that can use plugins. In that case I'd use Fredo's ThruPaint plugin:

In any case the article helps explain how the segmenting of the curved border is important--and there may be other plugins to get the same effects in texturing.

To subdivide the border you may want to look at TIG's SPLIT TOOLS

You will find more information and videos about ThruPaint in the forum subject for the plugin.

Thanks so much pbacot! It's a great sulution indeed!

I have posted on the tool's post - a question on how to get the segmentation right.
Maybe you'll have an insight as well:
