Sketchup not responding to keyboard until orbiting

Like the subject says, I'm having a weird problem where every so often, I'll be in the middle of a command (ex: I have elements selected and I moved from a corner, but have yet to choose my destination) and then sketchup won't react to/recognize any of my keyboard inputs until I orbit around ever so slightly.
No spacebar, no Esc, no number values, nothing. The only thing that "fixes" it is I have to orbit and then everything acts normally again for a little while.
Why is this happening? How do I fix it for good?
Sketchup 2019, btw.

Did you install SketchUp correctly? That is, did you sign into Windows as your normal user and then right click on the downloaded installer file and choose run as administrator?

Could another program be stealing focus and the press of the wheel brings it back to SU?
