3D Warehouse
-
I have SU Pro 2015 but have not used for a while due to retirement. Have I missed something dramatic? as I cant download models from 3D Warehouse anymore. I realise i cant do this anymore directly from SU but even when i try to save from the website then load into SU it tells me I cant download as i have an older version and need to update which i dont understand as some of the models I have tried have been modified in 2014 so should work with SU Pro 2015. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 3D Warehouse supports the latest three versions so SU2019, 2018, and 2017. You can do as pcmoor suggests and install SketchUp 2017 Make and use it to download components and models from the Warehouse. then back save using Save as... to SU2015. Alternatively, you could use your Internet browser to search the Warehouse and download the Collada files and import the included DAE file into SU2015 directly. There's a Windows 64-bit only extension that can open newer version files in older versions but your profile indicates you are using Mac. If that's the case, it won't work for you. Your profile also says you are using Sketchup 8. Sounds like it needs updating.

Have tried downloading SU Make 2017 but after registering etc it doesnt complete. Profile was out of date, am using Pro 2015. Will try Make again later.

Thanks PC Moor have used your link successfully and now a happy camper. It is still frustrating having to do it this way but I guess this is how they stay in business.

The reason the Warehouse no longer supports versions older than 2017 has to do with discontinued support for the older Internet Browsers supplied by the operating systems and issues with security.
