3d organic form + 2d geometric shapes ?
-
Hello everyone!
this is my first post, so be patient with me!
I write you because I need advice.
I have to make a project that looks like this architect's practice.
https://theverymany.com/public-art/11-edmontonAn 3d organic form on which 2d geometric shapes are applied.
The idea is to create a curved organic form on which to apply graphic texture shapes provided by an artist.
Is there a way to do this in SketchUp?I don't think it's a problem for me to make the organic form (like the ones shown on the site).
The problem is how to apply the 2d patches on the 3d form ( possibly with an overlap to allow assembly) and then extract the individual faces for CNC cutting, without becoming crazy and having a rigor in cataloging the pieces.can you help me?
do you have any ideas?
Thanks!

Looks like you need to learn Artisan. https://artisan4sketchup.com/

Or of course SubD by Thomthom for the organic form

About the "planar" pieces maybe take a look at the Slicer 6 by TIG

and the Lattice maker familly always by TIG!

Converts edges and faces in a selected flat group into frames
PS About global structure maybe also take a look at the free TopMod !

(compatible to SketchUp by OBJ format)
