Less Cluttered UI
-
Hello, I've been a sketchup user for 7 years now, the more i use the program the more i find a necessity to get more extensions. However, this come with its own issues mainly you end up with a very cluttered User Interface.
I usually send all the toolbars to my second screen on my Desktop PC, however on my laptop it's a different story. I always end up with this
So i was wondering if I could place all these toolbars inside the Tray, that would make like a whole lot easier !
Is there any plugin or workaround available ?Thanks in Advance

Check TutorialsUp's Youtube demonstration.
A bigger (higher resolution) monitor will also help. Also, you seem to have some duplicate functions you could get rid of to save space.

You might make sets of plugins based on the type of work you are doing, using sets with SketchUcations Plugin Manager. Also you don't have to load every icon a plugin offers, you can just load the ones you really use a lot. Some plugins even have a single launcher icon that gives access to all the different tools, like Joint PushPull.

You could get rid of the Shadows toolbar and just access Shadows from the tray. I bet there's tools in the Large Toolset that you don't use. You shouldn't need Orbit or Pan, certainly. Make a couple of custom toolbars to replace that one and only put tools on it that you actually use on a regular basis. Use keyboard shortcuts for the common tools and eliminate their tools from the toolbars. You could edit the default parameters for Fredo6's Joint Push/Pull and get rid of all the buttons except the Quick Launcher. Then activate the desired tool from the Quick Launcher. Do the same with FredoScale. Do you use Soap Skin and Bubble frequently enough to justify keeping the toolbar out? Maybe you could just activate that one from the menu instead. The same goes for Curve Maker. There are many more choices of curve types if you start Curve Maker from the menu instead of the toolbar. If you haven't already done it, you could turn off Large Icons so the toolbar buttons are smaller.

SSB toolbars loads unless you deactivate the plugin.

It can be set so the toolbar isn't displayed without deactivating the extension. I have the extension running in SU and only make the toolbar visible when I want to use it.

You could also try LaunchUp (A Quick Launcher for SketchUp), provided you have the extensions installed (and relevant ones activated) already.
If it is based on the same code as Toolbar Editor you'll find that there are some tool functions (buttons) you just can't locate for the some or other reason.

Great, thanks for the recommendations, I'm starting to get used to Sketchup (I got it a while ago, but lost hope after a couple minutes, now I'm back at it) and it's as awesome as I wanted it to be, but the cluttered screen was definitely annoying.
